There is something magical that happens when we swim with the dolphins

Mozambique

You will fly into Durban and spend one night at Goble Palms Guest Lodge, the following morning we will take a road trip to the Mozambique border. After crossing the vibrant Kosi bay border post between South Africa and Southern Mozambique, you will transfer to a convoy of 4×4 vehicles. An exciting 30-min journey through the grasslands on a sand dune track awaits. Our destination – Ponta Malongane and the magnificent Milkwood coastal forest, home to a private and exclusive tented camp that offers comfort, privacy and tranquillity. The sound of the sea soothes and beckons and the endless expansive beach walks are only a few steps away. At night the sound of the Indian Ocean and the sweet bush babies will lull you to sleep. This area is an absolute paradise for nature lovers who just wish to be!

The morning encounters with the dolphins start with a stunning walk along the beach as the golden glow of the sun, bursts into the eastern sky over the ocean to the nearby dive center where we meet our highly skilled and experienced boat captain. The exhilarating boat launch takes us through the surf and out to sea where we will “ocean safari” to meet the wild Bottlenose dolphins.

Entering the water to meet these magnificent creatures in their liquid ocean environment is respectful and conscious allowing the dolphins to lead the encounter. Courtney’s extensive knowledge of these dolphins and the local sea life ensures that you will have the most phenomenal experience possible and this includes the chance to do some fascinating reef snorkelling.

Afternoons are free to explore the exquisite surrounds or to simply rest – On the banks of the inland lake Sugi is the colourful Ponta Malongane village boasting many unique arts and crafts, this is home to the warm and open hearted Shangaan people. As the sun begins to set, you can join Charles for healing sessions and awareness meditations down on the beach. The evenings will be varied with chill out time to socialize, and we’ll have a night or two with exhilarating djembe drumming around the night fire as Courtney shares with us the beats and rhythms of Africa. On our last afternoon, Courtney will take you on a magical sound journey as she weaves through the indigenous instruments with her beautiful voice. The generous brunches and 3 course dinners are cooked by our talented personal chef who will delight you with her dishes and home cooked delicacies.

Just you and the dolphins,
swimming
eye to eye,
heart to heart.

It’ll be a meeting you will remember for the rest of your life

National Elephant Reserve

The Elephant Reserve is a 300 square kilometre national reserve between Zululand and Mozambique and it is home to Africa’s largest elephants as well as the smallest antelope. It is also the ancestral home of the Tembe people who co-own and manage the Safari Lodge.

The excellent personal service, warm welcome and happiness to share their love of the land and animal kingdom with you makes this a special place to immerse yourself in the Africa of legends adventure and myth.

Each day we will venture out into the bush both in the early morning and the evening on game drives under the care and expertise of the local guides. Their knowledge offers superb opportunities to naturally connect with the magnificent wild herds of elephants, along with lion, giraffe, buffalo and rhino. The elephant encounters here are of the closest you will experience in all Southern Africa, you may even be close enough to look an elephant in the eye. As dusk falls you can enjoy a leisurely sundowner at the watering hole where the animals come together to drink. Each day there will be opportunities for movement and meditation sessions under Charles’ guidance.

The Safari Lodge offers luxury tented accommodation on decks with en-suites and there is a delightful sheltered pool to cool off in after the heat of the midday sun. You can relax in one of the comfortable thatched lounge areas, enjoy a refreshing drink at the decked bar or just take time out to sit peacefully under the trees where you may encounter the curious Nyala antelope that roam free within the camp.

The cuisine is out of this world – abundant and decadent. At night delicious 3 course meals are shared before we are captivated by the dance and local folklore stories of the Thonga people. What better way to learn about the African bush than to sit around a glowing campfire in the boma, under the night stars, and become part of the African heartbeat.

“Most wonderful and powerful love experience in my life!” Momoko Y.

Goble Palms Guest Lodge

After a relaxed breakfast we head towards Durban where the traditional elegance of Goble Palms Guest Lodge awaits us. Settling into this unique Edwardian Lodge that’s set high up on the ridge overlooking the city, we can enjoy its charming blend of tradition and luxurious comfort.

Each of the several guest lounges offers the added luxury of a complementary decanter of sherry as well as the daily newspapers. There is a delightful swimming pool where you can take a refreshing dip and tucked away under the eaves is their own quaint English pub where you can relax and unwind as you share your safari stories. For our last evening together we will dine out at one of Durban’s famous Indian restaurants and as we say our goodbyes and return to our different corners of the world, we will take with us the memories and friendships that are the magic of Africa.

“The greatest gift I’ve ever given to myself or received . . . a ‘whole’ life experience.” Joan B.
